If we can help another animal, we're providing a valuable service.  CDHA is not paid for any endorsements.

"In September, 2003, one of my own dogs underwent spinal surgery after a disc in his neck ruptured, leaving him paralyzed in all four legs.  Veterinarians agreed that hydrotherapy would help speed the process of his recovery, yet no one could tell me where he could receive hydrotherapy.  Through a series of coincidences I discovered "Fitter Critters" in Lee, Mass. (approx 40 miles from Albany, NY)

After months of being a quadriplegic, Teddy began walking February 9th (two months after he began his physical therapy).  Those who now see Teddy running say he's a 'Miracle dog'. Physical therapy and acupuncture helped to bring about the miraculous results."

If you are looking to buy a purebred puppy as opposed to adopting a purebred animal, please do not support puppy mills and backyard breeders.  Your best source, locally, is to contact a local kennel club and ask them to refer you to a reputable breeder -- someone who is breeding healthy animals with good temperaments and that match the breed description for that type of animal.

Local Animal Shelters:
Don't forget to check your county animal shelter if you're looking for a pet.  Many beautiful, highly adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized due to over crowding.  CDHA works with most of the area shelters in trying to save animals that may otherwise have to be destroyed.  Unfortunately, there are more animals that need homes than there are responsible adopters.
